So it's been quite a while hasn't it? It feels good to be back...even though when I logged on I came back to the less-than happy finding that ALL of the pictures on my blog, even the background and header, were missing. I don't know if they were deleted or what. I know it can't be a copyright issue because 90% of the photos on my blog are my own, and I always make extra sure that I give photo credit accurately so something like this doesn't happen! Have any of you experienced anything similar? I tried importing my backed up blog that I saved before all the photos disappeared into the void but the photos still weren't showing up! If you have any explanation for this (so I can avoid it in the future) or possible remedy please comment! I would love to hear your thoughts. So...I will be spending the next week or two reloading all the pictures. There are a few that I may not be able to find, which makes me sad (ALL THAT HARD WORK!!!) but luckily I save as much content on my hard drive as possible.

Anyway, let's talk about the fashion shall we? It's OOTD post! :D It's been such a long time and I feel so guilty. I've worn a lot of really great outfits recently because the weather here has been freakishly fantastic but I'm so lazy I don't ask people to take pics for me (bad blogger!). This one is curtesy of my sister who visited with her husband down from Portland a couple days ago. It was one of those outfits I totally just through together in a matter a minutes, but I'm finding those are always the best looks! It was comfy and light - perfect for Spring.

The blazer is a particularly favorite Spring buy of mine. I actually love the fact that it is soft and has no front closure. Truth time: I've always avoided pastels in the past. Seriously, since middle school or so I've avoided them like the plague. They always seemed to wash me out something fierce. But then, all these fashion magazines and bloggers were going on and on about pastels! And something began to happen...I fell in love! I wanted the light, floaty, feminine look that all the other fashion peeps were rocking! But I did some strict research first. Having tan skin makes wearing pastels difficult, period. Richer colors just do us more justice. However, I am a firm believer in the idea that any woman of any color (or size!) can work any color. It's all about choosing the RIGHT SHADE. What I like to do before I ever swipe my card is google image women who have similar coloring to yours. Similar eye and hair color is a major double bonus. For example, my "models" are Beyonce, Tyra Banks (eye color bonus), Rita Ora, and Zoe Saldana. What I do is simple: I just type in something like "Beyonce pastel" and scroll through the images to see what colors look good on her because I know they'll look good on me! (Most of the time, haha).

After doing that I went out and bought a few pastel pieces to add to my wardrobe. Periwinkle, celery, icy lilac, oh my! I love them all. And I've gotten lots of compliments when I wear these colors. That's how you know when something is truly working for you, am I right? Alright my darlings, I'm going to call it a day and start working on replacing those photos (argh.) Have a lovely day!

One Skirt, Three Ways: ASOS CURVE Exclusive Midi Skirt In Stripe

Hello everyone! I know I've taken (a bit more than) a hiatus - family, work, and school is a heavy burden! But I've found lately that I really miss blogging. It's like therapy for me - I find it very relaxing. :D But enough about that, on to the fashion!

I thought to kick off this reemergence of mine (for as long as it lasts, haha) with another styling post. I had my eye on a vertical striped skirt at Dorothy Perkins a while ago and I was SO CLOSE to buying it when I found it had sold out! I was pretty upset, I'm not going to lie. Since then I had never been able to find similar one; lots of horizontal stripes, but no vertical. Finally, I was browsing the ASOS Curve webpage and jumped when I saw a PLUS-SIZE (!) vertically striped skirt for less than forty bucks!!! I immediately began outfit planning and thought I'd share my favorite looks I came up with you guys!
