I've got a little running list of DIY projects that I want to do. There's probably over 50 things on that list, and slowly (VERY slowly) but surely I am crossing things off that list. This is a DIY that I've been wanting to do for a very long time. I knew it would be easy and quick, which is a must for me. I stay away from projects that last more than 20-30 minutes.
As far as items needed go: I used a container of plastic bugs you can find at Michael's, matte gold spray paint (also from Michael's), an old headband I got from Forever21, and a hot glue gun. And that's it! Seriously, this project is so easy I could practically do it in my sleep. If you're someone who considers themselves to be not very crafty, try this one!
Gold Insect Headband, Etsy |
I got the idea for this craft when I came across this amazing and edgy headband on Etsy (see pic above). I immediately was reminded of the little plastic toys at Michael's that I'd always wondered who bought them. Apparently I'm one of those people! I hopped on over to my local Michael's and found exactly what I was looking for: plastic insects (especially the scorpions). While I was there I grabbed a can of matte gold spray paint which I knew would come in handy for other projects (I was right).
Okay, are you ready for the next few steps? One: spray paint bugs and headband. Two: let dry. Three: hot glue the bugs to the headband. DONE: WEAR IT. Wouldn't it be great if all craft projects could be finished in a mere three steps?
Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully you'll leave with a little more inspiration to get started on some of your own DIY projects. Until next Friday!
