So here we are: my first OOTD post with blonde hair! And for all you tight-knit die-hard blondes out there, just know that I don't really consider myself blonde - I see myself more as floating between blonde and brunette. It will be more brunette as it grows out anyway.
I wore this to go out with my sister to the Black Sheep Gathering we have in Eugene every year. It is an all-things-fiber expo where you can go and buy yarn/fibers, pick up fiber supplies (like spinning wheels or carding machines), swap technique tips, and even see award-winning sheep (cute...but pretty darn rank)! We went last year and had a good time so we decided to go again this year! I'm not really into fiber arts - I mean, I like them, I just don't like making them, haha - but my sister REALLY is.
This also happens to be the first outfit post where I am wearing some of the new pieces I bought. The shirt is fantastic! It is made of this really thin cotton perfect for the warm weather. I had to buy a size down because 6PM was out of my size. I would have really preferred my size so it could be more blouson-y. But I don't hate it, and I don't think it looks horrible. My dad even noticed it was a new shirt (which is awesome. :P)
Jeans. Amazing. Period. I have noticed two things about the Forever21+ jeans since buying my first pair about 2 or 3 years ago: first, they are more expensive by about two bucks (which isn't THAT surprising); and second, they are a smidge longer than the first pair I ever bought. Also, I noticed - and I don't think I'm just being crazy - that the Fab Skinny Jeans in Denim (what I'm wearing) have a longer inseam and fit not as tight as the darker pairs I bought in the same size. I'll have to do some measurements to be absolutely sure.
I love the bag. It stank to high heaven (and still kind of does) of the chemical-y/factory smell when it first came out of the bag it shipped in. But I'm willing to overlook that because I've finally found the PERFECT fringe bag. It was a long road. I needed one in a solid neutral color, that wasn't ENORMOUS (seriously, what's up with the jumbo bags these days???), and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I never expected to find the holy grail at Charlotte Russe! Price? Check. Size? Check. Color? Check. The fringe is awesome. It's really supple and moves well. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the fact that the longer "cross-body" strap can't be removed. I have to stuff it into the bag when I use the short handles, which I anticipate will be most of the time, and it looks...I dunno, it just bugs me.
Lastly, the shoes. They're so cool! They're edgy without losing any sophistication. I ordered up a half size (6.5 to a 7) because I've noticed smoking flats tend to run a little tight in my true size and I'm happy with them. There is no arch support to speak of, unlike other Mossimo flats I've bought, so they probably won't be very comfortable to walk in for more than an hour.
Well that's all folks! See ya next time! :D
